It's like Pizza Madness

I did it again.  My flat bread pizza came out fabulous.  I got my onions, green pepper, bacon, pepperoni, cheeses....my mouth is just watering.  Delicious!  It looked much better than the first batch I tried and it tasted even better.

This is so so crazy!

My May bill is here! For a 30-day period the bill is $120.16! And for paying by the due date, the discount will bring it down to $108.15.  That is almost $30 below goal!!!!!!!

Can I do even better, I don't think so, cause the June bill will be read within the next few weeks and there is nothing I can do now.  Plus, it has been hot! hot! hot!

Yet Another Adventure: The Fishing Trip

Finally can say I went on a fishing trip!

Didn't catch a thing, but it was quite an interesting trip as there was a great downpour of rain.  It didn't affect us as much as those in the city, as the sudden downpour was accompanied by thunder and it's girlfriend lightning and some serious inches of rain.  As usual, I had my amateur camera along.

This was an egret, which I managed to get a good shot of on our way to the fishing spot.

I don't think the picture does justice to the size of this bird.  I wonder if he got any fish.

I kept seeing these small crabs, I managed to get snapshots of just 2.

And the rest of shots are from the pier and just some interesting shots.

 

And then the weather changed....suddenly.

And within a few minutes went back to normal....like an early morning sunrise, but in the wrong direction.

And of course...it was fun, even though we caught nothing!!

And just to prove we did some fishing...

Electrical Excitement: April Recap

Another good month....below the $150 goal for a 30-day period.

I choose the 30-day period to get an accurate figure for proper comparison.  Billing is done with varying days.  For last year the billing period ranged from 26-35 days.  Along with that variation is the variable fuel charge which goes up and down.  The variable fuel charge sometimes makes me feel like I am fighting a losing battle.

I have also continue to use the fan a little more than the previous months so I will have to monitor the electrical impact. 

As mentioned before, it is easier for me to ignore the heat in the day as I am busy doing things and can position myself at a strategically cool location.  At bedtime, that's a different story.  I have to close the curtains, the doors, and some windows.

The good thing is that it has been raining more in the evenings and things just cool down.

Bathroom Mess

The purpose of the emergency fund...hard cash! Cause when it rains it pours...and quite heavily I must say.  This started out as a bathtub spout that was leaking buckets of water.  Trust me, I tried to fix it first....needed the plumber. 
Oh well, I am officially broke, but I have a working bathroom!

Saturday Adventure: Sugar Loaf

Fabulous!  This hike was a straight through roughly 2 hour trek.  If I was scared of highs, I would have freaked out in this one.  The trail was at times both terrifying and exciting at the same time.  I feel like I should be knighted for extraordinary bravery.  I am just kidding, I have a blast and as usual had some help along the way.  It was worth it getting up at the wee hours of the morning.  Luckily, I was able to take pictures along the way and as usual spectacular views.

Electrical Exitement: March Recap

Maybe I should have preceded this with a **nerd** warning.

I am so excited, I have hit a new low figure for my electricity bill.    This is the results I am looking for, a reduction in my bill.  And also, I got a discount for paying on time which was even better.  Just picture me with thick glasses and a knitted hat doing a little dance as I am reading my spread sheet.

My March bill for a 40-day period totaled $193.50.  With the discount applied paying by the due date (grace period of 60 days), it was $174.15.  That means for a 30-day period, the actual billing figure was $130.61, almost $20 below goal.

This is the best 30-day billing I have gotten so far.

I hope to do better, but....it is getting hot and I have had to have my trusty old fan running at night and sometimes during the day.  If I am hope I try to keep it cool by having all the windows and doors open, the curtains drawn and periodically fanning with an old newspaper.
